It's hard to believe that we're almost at the end of our autumn term already.
We have been busy in the recording studio at Gardyne Theatre. Angus Folk have recorded a number of songs, as have some smaller groups. We hope to have a good mix of songs on the completed CD. We're gearing up for another session this coming week.
September means it's Kirrie Festival time, and we had positive feedback from our performance at the Bowling club Concert. It was good to see this festival attract a larger audience, and the locals supporting the event. It also gave us a chance to perform some of our newer songs.
Once again the locals came out to support us when we held our quiz night. The quizmaster was Alex. Rae, and a good time was had by all. Congratulations to the winning team – we hope you enjoyed your spoils, and commiserations to the losers, you were handicapped by not seeing the screen properly! Well it's as good as an excuse as any!
We recently heard from one of our past members, if there is anyone out there who used to sing with us, please do get in touch if you're ever in the area, we would love to catch up with you. There are still several original members attending.
This term ends on 27 September and we start back again with our main Tutor Amy Lord on 25 October. Please feel free to come along and join us, the first class is free.
Very best wishes, Angus Folk Committee
